Storm Windows and Doors

The price of energy is constantly on the rise. If you have old windows in your home, the best way to improve your home’s energy efficiency is to replace them with new, energy-efficient windows. However, if you’re on a tight budget, a less expensive option is to use storm windows.

Even though storm windows add little to the insulating performance of single-glazed windows they can help to reduce air movement into and out of existing windows, by providing a “dead air” space between the main window and storm window. This dead air works like insulation, slowing heat flow between the house and the outside. By reducing drafts they help increase the comfort level and reduce heating and cooling costs.

If you need new or replacement storm windows or doors, then give us a call, we will provide a free, no obligation quote.

CGM Storm Panel:

We fabricate a simple aluminum sash storm window that we call our CGM panel. They can be fabricated with annealed, acrylic or tempered glass. This may be a solution if you need storm windows in a screened in porch or if you have windows where a single storm unit can be clipped in place. If your windows open and close, then you will need to remove the CGM panels in the spring and replace them in the fall. The most common installation is with clips, we have a variety of them in stock.
